Information we hold

When you create an account, the website stores your name, email address, Australian mobile number in international format, a hash of your password, and the time you agreed to service messages about orders and reservations.

If you accept the Terms and Conditions and this Privacy Policy, the website stores that acceptance, the time, and the policy version. Accounts created before version 2026-10-26 may not have those acceptance fields. Those customers are not asked to register again, and they can still sign in.

A reservation stores the name, email, phone number, date, time, party size, optional food preference, and optional request you submit. A takeaway order stores the name, email, phone number, dishes, quantities, prices, optional note, and that payment is on collection.

The website does not ask for a payment card number. Card charging is not enabled.

Service messages

The mobile number and email address are used for the account and for essential messages about an order or a reservation, including changes and cancellations. Service-message consent is separate from promotional messages. The website does not currently send those messages by email, because outgoing mail is not configured, and it does not claim that SMS or WhatsApp delivery is active.

Promotional messages

Promotional offers, restaurant news, and special deals are sent only if you tick the optional box when you create an account, or if you later turn that choice on. The box is unchecked unless you select it. Leaving it unchecked does not stop you creating an account, signing in, reserving a table, or ordering takeaway.

The website stores the choice, the time you opted in, and the time you withdrew consent if you do so later. Withdraw the choice at Promotional messages after you sign in. Withdrawal stops promotional messages. It does not stop essential messages about an order or a reservation you have made.

There is no separate advertising-policy page. This section is the statement of how promotional messages work.

Google Analytics

This website does not load Google Analytics unless a GA4 measurement ID is configured. No measurement ID is configured in the current installation, so no analytics tag is sent and no analytics cookie is set. The older public site loaded more than one Google tag, including an ads tag and a tag-manager container. Those tags were not copied, so this site does not run a second or overlapping installation.

If a measurement ID is added later, a separate notice asks whether you allow analytics. That choice is not part of the Terms and Conditions and it is not the promotional-message box. Until you allow it, the tag is not loaded. The events that may then be sent are a page view, a menu view, the opening of the reservation page, and the opening of takeaway checkout when the cart already has items. The details are the page path or the number of items. Names, email addresses, phone numbers, passwords, and booking or order notes are not included.

Analytics is website measurement. It is not the source of Google or Tripadvisor review ratings.

Google, Tripadvisor, and other services

The homepage embeds a Google Map for Mehek Indian Restaurant & Bar and links to Google Maps for directions. Your browser contacts Google when that map loads. The typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, so a page view also contacts Google for those files.

Review buttons open the restaurant’s Google Maps listing and its Tripadvisor listing in a new tab. This website does not receive ratings, review text, or review counts from Google or Tripadvisor, and it does not send your account, order, or reservation details to them when you follow those links. What you then type on Google or Tripadvisor is handled by that service.

The website does not send customer records to an email provider, an SMS provider, or an advertising network, because those integrations are not connected.

Cookies

A sign-in cookie named sauth keeps you signed in. A cart cookie remembers takeaway items in the browser. These are used to run the account and the order, not for advertising. An analytics cookie is set only if analytics is configured and you allow it.

Retention, security, and overseas handling

Account, order, and reservation records are kept so the restaurant can run those requests and respond to questions about them. A fixed deletion period has not been set. Passwords are hashed. The sign-in cookie is not readable by page scripts. No retention or security step on this page is a promise that information cannot be lost or accessed unlawfully.

The website database is the database configured for this site. Google may process map, font, and, if you allow it, analytics data on systems outside Australia. Tripadvisor may do the same if you open its site. This website does not control those services.

Access, correction, and complaints

You can ask to see or correct the account, order, or reservation information the restaurant holds about you by calling 07 3211 7354 or visiting the restaurant. Say which details you want updated.

The Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles apply to organisations they cover. Whether every principle applies to this restaurant depends on the business and is not decided on this page. If you believe your information has been handled wrongly, contact the restaurant first. You can also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
